BGT 2024-25: Will the Sydney Test be affected by rain?

According to AccuWeather, Sydney is expected to see some late showers on January 2, but the weather for the first four days of the Test looks alright.

India need to beat Australia in the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting on January 3 (Friday), if they want to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue have to win, and the focus has now shifted to Sydney’s weather.

According to AccuWeather, Sydney is expected to see some late showers on January 2, but the weather for the first four days of the Test looks alright.

The temperature for the first two days will likely hover around 25 to 30 degrees, but it will rise to 33-34 degrees on January 5 and 6.

However, there’s an 87 percent chance of rain on day five (January 7) of the SCG Test. Most of the batters have struggled in the series, and keeping that in mind, we should have enough time for a result.

Australia, who are leading 2-1 in the five-match series, have already announced their playing XI. Mitchell Marsh has been dropped, with Beau Webster set to make his debut.

Meanwhile, India haven’t yet announced their XI. There’s also a possibility that out-of-form Indian captain Rohit Sharma could be dropped for the Sydney Test.
