T20 World Cup 2026: India-Pakistan Clash On Feb 15, Tournament Kicks-Off On Feb 7

The finale of the 20-team event will be held on March 8, but the choice of the venue will depend on whether Pakistan make it to the final or not

The T20 World Cup 2026 will see the marquee clash between India and Pakistan take place on February 15, as reported by ESPNcricinfo, part of the same conglomerate as the official broadcasters of the tournament, Disney+Hotstar.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will announce the schedule of the tournament to be hosted in India and Sri Lanka on November 25 (Tuesday) at 6:30 PM IST in a special ceremony.

The tournament is scheduled to kick-off on February 7 when the hosts, India, will take on the United States of America (USA) in Mumbai. The India-Pakistan clash will take place at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India and Pakistan are placed in the same group alongside the USA, the Netherlands and Namibia.

The group stages of the tournament will see three matches a day being played. Pakistan will certainly play all their matches in Sri Lanka, with at least the group stage games having a certainty of being played in Colombo.

The finale of the 20-team event will be held on March 8, but the choice of the venue will depend on whether Pakistan make it to the final or not. India will play their Super Eight matches in Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata, and if they make it to the semi-final, they will play that in Mumbai, with the final slated to be played either in Ahmedabad or Colombo

India are the defending champions, having defeated South Africa to clinch the trophy in 2024.
