The Hundred franchise Welsh Fire on Tuesday announced the big signing of England opener Tammy Beaumont from London Spirit for the 2022 season and will captain the side.
Fire's men’s side have also signed three overseas stars in this year’s draft in the form of Australia leg spinner Adam Zampa, South African big-hitter David Miller, and Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah. A strong looking domestic line up will be further bolstered by the re-signing of England and Somerset batter Tom Banton as the side looks to build on their first campaign.
Welsh Fire men's team have retained Jonny Bairstow and Ollie Pope alongside skipper Ben Duckett.
The franchise's women's team will also feature Australia’s World Cup winners Rachael Haynes and Annabel Sutherland and West Indies’ star allrounder Hayley Matthews as the sides overseas players.
Speaking about signing for Welsh Fire, Beaumont said: "I’m beyond excited to be leading Welsh Fire this summer. I loved my time with London Spirit but the opportunity to captain Welsh Fire was something I couldn’t turn down."
London Spirit sign Pollard and Mooney
London Spirit, meanwhile, signed the likes of Kieron Pollard, Liam Dawson and Australia pacer Riley Meredith. The women's team has signed Australian stars Beth Mooney and Megan Schutt alongside New Zealand allrounder Amerlia Kerr. The team will be captained by Sophie Luff who played for Welsh Fire last season.
The men's team also boasts of the talents of Glenn Maxwell, Mark Wood, Eoin Morgan and Zak Crawley.
The England and Wales Board's flagship tournament will have each side playing 100 balls each. The 2022 edition will kick off on August 3 with the men's teams of Southern Brave and Welsh Fire facing off at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
The women's tournament will begin on August 11 with the match between Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers.
Trent Rockets sign Lanning and Munro
Australia's World Cup winning captain Meg Lanning signed for Trent Rockets on Tuesday which also features compatriot Alana King. South Africa batter Mignon Du Preez is the third overseas player for the Rockets.
Rockets' men's team signed New Zealand big-hitter Colin Munro and highly-rated English batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore. The team also has England Test captain Joe Root, Dawid Malan and opener Alex Hales. The franchise have Afghanistan legspinner Rashid Khan and South African pacer Marchant de Lange as their other overseas options.
The women's team also has England's star allrounder Natalie Sciver alongside Katherine Brunt, Sarah Glenn and Kathryn Bryce.
Southern Brave sign De Kock, Tahlia McGrath
Women's World Cup winner Tahlia McGrath signed for Southern Brave for the upcoming edition while the men's team re-signed South African keeper batter Quinton de Kock.
The men's team also secured the services of Under-19 World Cup Rehan Ahmed, who helped England reach the final of the tournament in West Indies this year.
Fast-bowling allrounder McGrath will be joined by Jo Gardner, who won the inaugural edition of The Hundred with Oval Invincibles.
The franchise had retained Indian opener Smriti Mandhana while Australian legspinner Amanda-Jade Wellington occupies the third overseas spot. The squad also has England regulars Danni Wyatt, Sophia Dunkley and Anya Shrubsole.
Russell and Hasaranga go to Manchester Originals
Manchester Originals' men's team signed Sri Lankan allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga, West Indies allrounder Andre Russell and Australian pacer Sean Abbott as their overseas signings on Tuesday.
The team also England regulars Jos Buttler and Ollie Robinson besides Dutch internationals Fred Klaassen and Colin Ackermann. They have also signed England internationals Phil Salt and Matt Parkinson.
The women's side captured the signatures of West Indies star allrounder Deandra Dottin and New Zealand's Amy Satterthwaite. The team also boasts of the talent of No.1 ODI bowler Sophie Eccelstone, who finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 2022 Women's World Cup with 21 scalps.
Bravo signs for Northern Superchargers
West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo signed for Northern Superchargers' men's team alongside Pakistan's veteran pacer Wahab Riaz. Bravo, IPL's highest wickettaker, will join the side led by Ben Stokes and has South Africa's Faf du Plessis as their overseas player.
The women's team had retained India batter Jemimah Rodrigues for the upcoming season who will feature alongside Australia's star opener Alyssa Healy, who scored a match-winning 170 in the final of the 2022 Women's World Cup. South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt is their third overseas player.
The men's team will have legspinner Adil Rashid, Netherlands' Roelef van der Merwe and England's veteran allrounder Luke Wright.
Oval Invincibles sign Winfield-Hill
Defending women's champions Oval Invincibles completed the signing of England opener Lauren Winfield-Hill for the upcoming season from Nothern Superchargers. South African trio of Shabnim Ismail, Dane van Neikerk and Marizanne Kapp will be the holders' overseas players.
Invincibles' men's team acquired the services of West Indies allrounder Sunil Narine for the overseas slot. The team have multiple England regulars in the line-up including Sam and Tom Curran, Saqib Mahmood, Jason Roy, Sam Billings and Rory Burns.
South African batter Rilee Rossouw and Australian allrounder Hilton Cartwright are their other overseas players.
