Right-arm pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has received his maiden Test call-up for Bangladesh’s home Test series against Zimbabwe, which starts April 20. The pacer has already played 10 ODIs and 22 T20Is for Bangladesh and has 37 international wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim are back in the side after missing the series against West Indies. It’s notable that Rahim has already retired from the ODI format and is nearing his 100th Test match. He has played 94 Tests so far, which is the most for a Bangladeshi.
Taskin Ahmed is the most notable absentee from Bangladesh’s squad. He has been ruled out due to a left Achilles tendon injury. Litton Das will also be missing from the series. He has been given the NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The two-test series will begin on April 20 in Sylhet, and the second Test will be played on April 28 in Chattogram.
