Tim David Overshadows Shai Hope To Register Historic Century vs West Indies

The Australia batter smashed a record-breaking ton to take his side to victory against the West Indies

On his first batting performance since his return from injury, Tim David smashed a record-breaking hundred in the third T20 International (T20I) against the West Indies in Basseterre on July 25 (Friday). David got to his century off just 37 deliveries, making him the fastest from his country to reach the landmark. In fact David reached his fifty off just 16 deliveries - the fastest for Australia in T20Is.

Only David Miller and Rohit Sharma have reached their centuries faster than Tim, among players from full-member nations.

With this win, Australia have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. 

With David and Australia setting so many records, one must not forget Shai Hope, who also hit his maiden T20I century. With his unbeaten 102, he became the second player from the West Indies after Chris Gayle to hit a century across formats. 

West Indies will look to pull one back in the next T20I, which will be played in Basseterre on July 26 (Saturday).
