Tom Curran sidelined for several months after suffering stress fracture

The paceman is now expected to be fit by the start of the Vitality Blast campaign in late May

England paceman Tom Curran will be out of action for around four months after suffering a stress fracture in his lower back.

The 26-year-old experienced discomfort while playing for Sydney Sixers in the ongoing Big Bash League and will now miss the start of the 2022 domestic season.

As a result, Curran has also been left out of the 16-man squad that will travel to West Indies for a five-match T20I series. He is now expected to be fit by the start of the Vitality Blast campaign in late May.

Incidentally, his younger brother Sam Curran was ruled out of the T20 World Cup and Ashes because of a similar injury.
