Trinbago Knight Riders vs Barbados Royals CPL 2021, Match 4: Fantasy Preview

Here are a few tips that might help you in creating your fantasy team for the fourth match of CPL 2021 between the Knight Riders and Royals

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) take on Barbados Royals (BY) in Match 4 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts. Both teams will look to get back into winning ways after losing their first game of the tournament. While TKR lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) by nine runs, Barbados suffered a 21-run loss at the hands of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Out of the 17 matches in the CPL so far, TKR have won 10, while BT have won seven. In fact, TKR have been so dominant that they have won the last seven matches against BT and furthermore, Barbados have won just one of their last 10 matches against Trinidad.

Ground details

In the two matches at Warner Park, the spinners have been in top form. However, it is the pacers who have picked up a higher percentage of wickets, the spinners have been far more economical, conceding runs at just 5.5 an over, compared to the pacers, who have gone at over eight.

When it comes to the intervals between wickets, the spinners have done so 18.6 runs apart, while the pacers have struck every 23.9 runs. However, when it comes to the balls per wicket ratio the pacers have fared better, striking once every 17.7 deliveries compared to the spinners, who have been striking once every 20.3 deliveries.

As the days roll on, there could be some wear and tear on the pitch and you may consider filing your side with spinners, but given that these are still early days in CPL 2021, a balanced side should be the way to go.

Captain

Sunil Narine put in an incredible all-round performance in the previous match. He picked up two wickets for 17 and opening the batting he scored a 17-ball 20. In the CPL since 2020, Narine has struck six times in five matches, and with the bat, he has scored at a strike-rate of over 144, which includes two fifties from five matches.

Our Criclytics player projector predicts Narine could fetch 47-82 points in this match

X-Factors

Akeal Hosein has not been in at his wicket-taking best in the recent past, but in the previous match against Guyana, he picked up a couple of wickets and scored a valuable unbeaten 22 lower down the order. In T20s since 2020, Hosein the left-arm orthodox spinners has picked up 10 wickets at 15 from seven matches in CPL since 2021 and we he could have a say in this match as well.

Our Criclytics player projector predicts Hosein could fetch 34-64 points in this match

Fast bowler Oshane Thomas picked up three crucial wickets in the previous match against St Kitts, finishing with 3 for 22 from his four overs. He has picked up 14 wickets from 11 matches, striking once every 12.4 deliveries in CPL since 2020.

Our Criclytics player projector predicts Thomas could fetch 30-58 points in this match

Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh was not among the wickets in the first match of the tournament, but without a shadow of a doubt, he will be a big threat to the opposition batsmen, given his guile and the ability to deceive the batsmen. In CPL since 2020, Walsh has picked up 20 wickets at 21.5, but picks up a wicket every 16.8 deliveries. He will be the bowler to watch out for as the tournament progresses.

Our Criclytics player projector predicts Walsh could fetch 17-49 points in this match
