Trinbago Knight Riders vs St Lucia Kings, CPL 2021, Match 9: Fantasy Preview

Here are a few tips that might help you in creating your fantasy team for the ninth match of CPL 2021 between St Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders

After a day break the Caribbean cricket festival is back with the four-time titlists Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) taking on the St Lucia Kings (SLK) in Basseterre. SLK are lying at the bottom of the table with two points. Though the rest of the five teams are also at two, SLK’s net run rate of -2.875 is the biggest worry.

TKR have a massive advantage in overall head to head record as they have won 13 out of the 18 matches played. However, SLK had the upper hand with a five-run win the last time these two teams met on Sunday.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Overall: Matches – 18 | TKR – 13 wins| SLK – 3 wins| NR – 2

Last five matches: TKR – 3 wins | SLK – 1 win | NR -1

SUGGESTED TEAM

While you could go for the above team, you also have the option of choosing your own team from Cricket.com’s Fantasy Research Centre. You can use this tool to build your team with the help of algorithms. Based on your preferences, the platform will guide you to create the ideal fantasy XI.

GROUND DETAILS

The whole tournament has been played on the same ground. In the first eight matches, apart from the one where Jamaica Tallawahs clubbed 255 runs, it has been a mixed bag of scores in the first innings. There has been one score of 120, two in 140’s, one in 150’s, two in 160’s and one in 175. On an average 166 runs have been scored in the first innings and an average of 147 runs ahs been chased as target.

This season, there has been a lot of spin on offer, which has made things difficult for batsmen to score against them. Hence, the economy is on the lower side. However, the spinners (26.7) have a very poor strike rate as compared to the pacers (18). Even with the share of wickets, pacers (70.3%) have been much better than the spinners (29.7%).

SUGGESTED CAPTAIN

As Long as Sunil Narine is in the playing eleven, there is always threat for the opposition and an advantage in the fantasy team. Opening the batting, either he scores quick runs or gets out early and with the ball in hand he is always menace. In this CPL 2021, Narine has bagged three wickets.

Our Criclytics player projection predicts, Narine could score 18-26 runs and bag 0-1 wickets against SLK

X-FACTOR

Across both teams, there has been one batsman wo has been in rich vein form and that is Tim David. The Singapore based batsman has been scoring runs at an average of 33.6 and strike rate of 157.2 in the year 2021. His consistency has been one of the biggest perks behind him earning calls for big teams. In the two matches this season, he has scored at 49.5 and a strike rate of 165.

Our Criclytics player projection predicts, David could score 18-26 runs against TKR

The 36-year old veteran pacer Ravi Rampaul is having a blast this year. Not only is he among wickets, he is also one of the most economical bowlers. With six wickets in three matches, Rampaul is the joint leading wicket takers of the 2021 CPL. His experience in this tacky pitch is certainly an X-factor.

Our Criclytics player projection predicts, Rampaul could pick up 0-1 wickets against SLK

If the veteran pacer has been good, the young left arm spinner in Akeal Hosein has enjoyed the conditions. In this season of CPL, after Rampaul and Isuru Udana, Hosein has been TKR’s highest wicket taker with four wickets. Alongside Narine, Hosein has been a lethal spin force for TKR and that is why he is one of our X-factor.

Our Criclytics player projection predicts, Hosein could pick up 1-2 wickets against SLK
