The lineup for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka is fully set as United Arab Emirates (UAE) have become the 20th and final team to qualify for the mega event. UAE sealed qualification today at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) in Oman after thrashing Japan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier 2025. They became the third team to make it out of the Asian Qualifiers, with Nepal and Oman earlier sealing their spots.
This will be UAE’s third appearance in the Men’s T20 World Cup following appearances[],[k in both 2022 and 2014. They have one win under their belt in T20 World Cups already, a 7-run victory over Namibia in Geelong in 2022.
UAE’s qualification means all 20 spots have been sealed. Apart from hosts India and Sri Lanka, the teams who have made it to the T20WC 2026 are: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman & United Arab Emirates.
The 20 teams will be split into four groups of five each, with the top two in each group progressing to the Super 8s stage. India are the defending champions, having triumphed over South Africa dramatically in the final of the 2024 edition in the Caribbean.
The mega event will be held across February and March, before the start of IPL 2026.
