Venues For Next 3 ICC WTC Finals Revealed — Is India Hosting A Final?

So far, England has hosted the final of all three editions played

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have confirmed that the final of the next three World Test Championship (WTC) cycles will be held in England, with the board awarding the hosting rights to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

There was speculation that India might get to host a WTC Final in the upcoming years, but that has been put to bed with the ICC confirming that the ECB will retain hosting rights of the final till 2031, making it six straight finals taking place in England.

A ‘successful track record in hosting recent finals’ is believed to have played the biggest part in ICC backing England to host the forthcoming cycles’ finals.

The 2025 WTC Final took place at Lord’s, London, and despite two neutrals playing in the form of Australia and South Africa, tickets were sold out for all four days. A packed Lord’s, on Day 4, witnessed South Africa create history by winning their first major title this century.

So far, the final of the first three WTC editions have been played across three different venues: Southampton (2021), The Oval (2023) and Lord’s (2025). We’ve had three different champions too, in the form of New Zealand (2021), Australia (2023) and now South Africa (2025).

The 2025-27 WTC cycle is already underway, and Australia are currently table toppers with 3 wins in 3, making it a PCT of 100%.
