After much deliberation, the BCCI have reportedly finalised Lucknow and Baroda as the two venues for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 in a caravan format. While Lucknow will reportedly host the first leg of the tournament, Baroda’s new international stadium, Kotambi, is set to host the second half, including the final.
According to Sportstar, the third edition of WPL will begin on February 6 or 7, coinciding with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The final will be played on March 9.
“Since there will be 23 games, it will be held in two venues. The idea is to spread the game across the country,” a board insider told Sportstar.
Last year, the tournament was hosted in a similar template, with Bengaluru and New Delhi being the two venues. The Kotambi Stadium has already hosted the three-match ODI series between India women and West Indies women.
The much-awaited WPL fixtures will be out next week, and BCCI are in ongoing discussions with the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Baroda Cricket Association.
