Smaran Ravichandran turned out to be the hero with the bat for the South Indian side as he hit a balanced 101 off just 92 balls to take his team to a very competitive total of 348/6.ย
Along with Smaran, Abhinav Manohar (79 off 42 balls) and KL Shrijith (78 off 74 balls) also played important knocks for Karnataka.ย
Vidarbha, the side with the most in-form batters, was fancied to chase down the target of 350 under lights. However, the leading run-scorer in the tournament and captain of the central Indian side, Karun Nair, a former Karnataka player and skipper himself, failed to finish the tournament on a high.
Nair got out for 27 off 31 balls. After that, Harsh Dubey (63 off 30 balls) along with centurion Dhruv Shorey (110 off 111) tried their best to keep the Vidarbha side in the game, but eventually, they fell short by 36 runs.
For Karnataka, Abhilash Shetty picked three wickets each to cap off a great season for the champion side which lost just one game that was against Hyderabad.
