Matthew Wade and Ben McDermott join fellow Hobart Hurricanes teammate Tim David as the latest Australians to feature in the inaugural edition of the SA20 as they’ve been roped in as replacements by Jo’burg Super Kings and Durban’s Super Giants respectively. While Wade replaces paceman Alzarri Joseph, McDermott has been roped-in as replacement for Kyle Mayers. DSG will also be without the services of Jason Holder, who will instead be replaced by England’s David Willey.
All three of Joseph, Holder and Mayers are unavailable for the remainder of the SA20 due to national duties; the Windies will lock horns with Zimbabwe in a two-Test series starting February 4th.
Meanwhile, table-toppers Pretoria Capitals have opted to replace the rampant Will Jacks with the experienced Colin Ingram. Ingram is currently representing Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the inaugural edition of the ILT20.
SA20 is currently in the midst of an eight-day break owing to the three-match ODI series between England and South Africa. The season will resume on February 2 (Thursday).
