WATCH - 6/16: Saeed Ajmal Bowls Outrageous Spell In WCL To Floor Australia
It's the first 5+ wicket haul in WCL history
Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal bowled the most outrageous spell in World Championship of Legends (WCL) history as he floored Australia Champions with a ridiculous display that saw him finish with figures of 6/16.
It’s the first 5-fer and best figures in WCL history (across 2024 and 2025 editions) as Ajmal broke the previous record held by West Indies’ Fidel Edwards, who had taken 4/11 against England Champions last week.
On the day, Ajmal took the wickets of D’Arcy Short, Ben Dunk, Daniel Christian, Ben Cutting, Peter Siddle and Steve O’Keefe as he took a six-wicket haul in just 23 balls.
Ajmal’s efforts helped Pakistan Champions bowl Australia Champions out for just 74, the lowest bowled-out score in WCL history. Pakistan took less than 8 overs to chase the target as they won by 10 wickets.
This was a dead rubber, with both Australia Champions and Pakistan Champions having already sealed semi-final qualification before the contest began.
South Africa Champions are table toppers, and the other side to have confirmed semi-final qualification. India are reeling at the bottom with no wins in four games, but a big win against the West Indies champions later today could help the side sneak into fourth position, at the cost of the England Champions.
