It was expected that Day 4 of the third Test at Lord’s between England and India would begin with a lot of intensity and heat after the drama in the last over on Day 3.
Fans weren’t disappointed at all, as the England batters kept playing and missing and getting hit, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowling tight, disciplined lines, making them play on a surface that has plenty of uneven bounce from the Nursery end.
Both the England openers played nearly 40% false shots as per the data available, and soon India reaped the rewards as Ben Duckett was dismissed by Siraj when he tried to swipe a delivery on an outside off stump line, and was caught at mid-on. Notably, he had gotten out on the same line in Birmingham as well.
Siraj was absolutely pumped up about that dismissal, as it had come after a lot of deliveries getting close to dismissing the batters but missing it marginally. He ran towards Duckett, and exulted in his face, roaring and giving him the eye as both Siraj and Duckett were in the thick of the drama in the last over on Day 3.
Siraj kept bowling brilliantly to Ollie Pope as well, testing his inside edge on many occasions. Finally, he got a delivery to nip in sharply and hit Pope in front of the middle stump. The umpire didn’t give it out on the field; however, India opted for the DRS as Siraj told skipper Shubman Gill that he's 100% sure that height won't be an issue. As it was revealed, there were no issues with the height of the ball, and it showed three reds.
Drinks were taken right after that as India ended the highly intense first hour of play of Day 4 on a high.
