Jasprit Bumrah is not just a fan favourite in India. He also seemed to have impressed the world-famous British band Coldplay, who are on a tour of India currently.
Chris Martin, the lead vocalist and co-founder of the band, had also mentioned him during the concert at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and showed a clip of Bumrah yorking out England’s Ollie Popes in the Test series held last year.
Coldplay even posted a picture of Bumrah’s name engraved on the band's drum with a cricket ball next to it.
However, Coldplay’s craze for the Indian speedster reached its peak during the band’s last show in Ahmedabad, where Bumrah was physically present. Martin even sang a song for Bumrah that went like, “Jasprit, my beautiful brother, the best bowler in the whole of cricket…We do not enjoy you destroying England wicket after wicket.”
Bumrah, surrounded by the audience in the standing section, looked visibly overwhelmed with happiness after such a grand gesture from the band.
The crowd seemed to have absolutely loved it as well, as the noise reached deafening levels in the stadium which hosted Coldplay’s biggest ever concert.
