Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have started CPL 2024 on a great note. They registered a big 44-run victory against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP) in the third game of the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Batting first, TKR scored a huge total of 250/4 courtesy of a fiery knock of 97 runs in just 43 deliveries by Nicholas Pooran. Along with him Keacy Carty was in some serious hitting form, as he also scored 73 runs in just 35 deliveries at a strike rate of 208.57.
They were the top two scorers for TKR, as the SKNP bowlers, especially Dominic Drakes, who gave 77 runs in his four overs, were hit all around the ground.
While chasing, Evin Lewis gave SKNP a great start with 39 off 23 deliveries. However, Josh Little bowled well to dismiss skipper Andre Fletcher and Kyle Mayers by the second over itself. Despite the superb efforts by Mikyle Louis (56 off 39) and Tristan Stubbs (39 off 19), SKNP kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At the end, they fell short by 44 runs.
