Is that a bird? Is that a plane? Nah, it is the Superwoman Ellyse Alexandra Perry!
The 34-year-old Australian continued to be a highlight reel, with a stellar overhead grab to remove the dangerous Meg Lanning of the Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League (WPL) on March 1 (Saturday). Perry was a one-woman show in the first innings, too, with a stellar 47-ball 60, which was the sole reason why Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) reached 147/5 against Delhi Capitals.
You’d say that’s already one hell of a job done, right? For Perry, that was just one part of the job, as she pulled off perhaps one of the contenders for the best catch of WPL 2025. That even led to Twitter users hailing the all-rounder as a ‘walking highlight reel’.
Talking about the catch, Lanning, after a struggling start, tried to clear Perry in the mid-on region but couldn’t time the ball, as the 34-year-old Australian pulled off a fine grab, so much so that even the other RCB players could not believe their eyes. It was so good that even the commentators couldn't hold their excitement, stating that it is 'Perry's world, and we are living in it'.
