Faf du Plessis is just a month shy of turning 41, yet he is as agile as any player in world cricket. He further proved that when he took a one-handed stunner, diving to his right in Texas Super Kings' (TSK) opening Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 encounter against MI New York (MINY) in Oakland on June 14 (Saturday).
Michael Bracewell looked to beat du Plessis at mid-off and struck the ball pretty well. However, the TSK skipper was quick to react and dove full stretch to complete a superb catch. It was a crucial catch as well, as Bracewell had put on 97 off just 48 deliveries with Monank Patel for the fourth wicket to bring MINY back in the game after they were reduced to 24/3 in the sixth over.
MINY needed 65 from the last 40 balls after Bracewell's dismissal, but they fell three runs short in the end. Daryl Mitchell held his nerve and defended eight runs in the last over to help his side get off the mark in the competition.
TSK will look to make it two in two when they take on LA Knight Riders (LAKR) on June 16 (Monday) in Oakland.
