19-year-old Sam Konstas continues to be in the headline, as a fan slammed his car against another in an attempt to click a photo with the teenage sensation. In the viral video by Herald Sun Sport, the fan is seen getting out of his vehicle and running towards the 19-year-old.
But what happens after that is the most soul-crushing thing. Realising that he hadn’t put the handbrake, the owner ran towards the car but could only watch it slowly move towards the other parked car before eventually crashing into it as Konstas walked off into a building.
Konstas was perhaps arriving at the Sydney Thunder's practice area before a Big Bash League encounter. The 19-year-old has already become a vital cog of the Australian setup following his heroics on debut at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where he took on a rampant Jasprit Bumrah.
Across the two Tests he played, the right-hander scored 113 runs at a strike rate of 81.88, taking on Bumrah, something that the other Australian batters couldn’t do with that much authority. The youngster’s next international assignment will be a two-Test series against Sri Lanka, starting January 29.
