Former India all-rounder Rishi Dhawan unleashed himself, smashing 14 fours and four sixes on his way to an unbeaten 99 off 41 deliveries to help Chhattisgarh Warriors pip Rajasthan Kings in Qualifier 1 of the Legend 90 2025 in Raipur.
Chasing 175, Dhawan, who opened with Martin Guptill, led the way as his side reached the target in just 12.5 overs. He put on 130 off just 58 deliveries with skipper Gurkeerat Singh Mann to take the Warriors into the final. They will face one of Delhi Royals or Rajasthan Kings, who face each other in Qualifier 2, in the final.
Dhawan has been in excellent form with the bat this season. He started the tournament off with 40 (55) against Dubai Giants and slammed 50 (24), 76* (42), 38* (28) and 9 (9) in the next games before playing his best innings of the tournament. His medium-pace has also fetched him five wickets, including a best of 3/30.
Dhawan announced his retirement from Indian limited-overs cricket last month. In addition to his four white-ball matches for India in 2016, the 34-year-old has played 100 first-class matches, 134 50-over matches, and 135 T20s.
He also featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) having been picked by Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, most recently, he turned up for Punjab Kings.
