Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar was looking in stunning form against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final in Ahmedabad, before Kyle Jamieson set him up beautifully and dismissed him for 26 off 16 deliveries.
Walking out to bat at No.4, and with Virat Kohli not scoring at a good rate, Patidar announced his arrival with a boundary off Vijaykumar Vyshak before tonking Yuzvendra Chahal for a six over long-on. RCB were 87/2 at the end of 10 overs when Jamieson was brought back into the attack.
The tall paceman from New Zealand came with a simple game plan - take the pace off and hit the length, but Patidar managed to hit the third delivery of the over for another six.
Jamieson, however, didn’t give up on his plan and bowled another slower bumper, with Patidar failing to get any bat on it. After four slower deliveries, Jamieson went full and increased his pace by more than 20 KMPH, pinning Patidar right in front of the stumps.
The right-hander from Madhya Pradesh was expecting another slow and short delivery, and failed to get any bat on the ball. Patidar was right in front of the stumps and didn’t even bother to go for a review.
Earlier in the innings, Jamieson also dismissed Phil Salt in the second over after Arshdeep Singh bowled the most expensive first over in IPL final history.
