India’s most successful captain, MS Dhoni, turned 44 on July 7 (Tuesday). The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper-batter celebrated his birthday with friends in his hometown, Ranchi.
In a video shared on social media, Dhoni was seen cutting a cake and sharing it with everyone present at the celebration.
MSD remains one of the most successful captains in world cricket. Under his leadership, India clinched the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He also led India to the top of the ICC Test rankings for the first time in history.
Dhoni represented India in 350 ODIs, 98 T20Is, and 90 Tests, scoring over 17,000 runs across the three formats. The right-handed batter registered 16 centuries and 108 fifties for the national side.
Dhoni was recently seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he led CSK once again after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to injury. In 13 innings, Dhoni scored 196 runs at an average of 24.50 and a strike rate of 135.17.
