Follow UsPunjab Kings (PBKS) posted a video of Shreyas Iyer playing shots to the tunes of Diljit Dosanjh’s son Tension. It was a sly wordplay on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant’s comments after the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
Pant, in a conversation with official broadcasters Star Sports, said that he had ‘tension’ with the Punjab Kings that they might get him in the auction, and he would not be able to play for the Lucknow brigade.
By captioning the video, “𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 toh auction mein hi khatam ho gayi thi!” the Kings flaunted their style after their win against the LSG at their home ground of Lucknow on April 1 (Tuesday).
Chasing the target of 172, Punjab achieved it in only 16.2 overs with eight wickets in hand.
Notably, Pant was the costliest buy in IPL history, getting picked by LSG for INR 27 Cr, while Iyer was acquired by the Punjab side for INR 26.75 Cr.
