If you juggle the cricket ball once or twice before catching it is considered a good effort, but if you juggle a dolly six times and look like dropping it before eventually handing it on with all your body on line, you are Nitsih Rana.
Playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 24 (Thursday), Rana got a dolly of a catch standing at short cover, but he was unable to pick the ball.
By the time he did, it was dying on him, and he just about held it with both his hands. He then dived full length and then juggled four times before he had to put his whole body on the line and catch the ball with his hands, just about holding it together with his chest.
It was as comical as it gets as Rana, after having taken the catch, also signalled the number of juggles he did.
Devudutt Padikkal, who was caught by Rana off the bowling of Sandeep Sharma, was playing one of his best knocks of the season, as he scored 50 off 26 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes.
