Prabhsimran Singh has been slowly but steadily creating impact in the IPL with every passing season, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) gave him the ultimate vote of confidence ahead of IPL 2025 by making him one of two retentions.
And so far, Prabhsimran has justified PBKS’ decision to retain him. At the time of writing this article, the 24-year-old has scored 280 runs at an average of 35 and strike rate of 166, proving to be an absolute gun at the top of the order. He’s set up multiple games in the powerplay for the Kings, forming a formidable partnership with Priyansh Arya at the top of the order.
And in the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens today, Prabhsimran created one of the best moments of the season, producing one of the most outrageous hits you’re bound to see.
In the 11th over of the first innings, with PBKS on the ascendancy against KKR with the score reading 97/0, the right-hander was up against Sunil Narine, who is generally considered a very tricky customer to hit.
However, Prabhsimran not only took on Narine, but DISRESPECTED HIM by pulling off an unbelievable reverse hit.
A right-hander by default, Prabhsimran switched and turned into a left-hander as Narine released the ball and gave the ball an almighty thwack as he slog-swept it for a towering six.
The audacity of the stroke left the commentators stunned, and it also brought up Punjab’s team hundred. Prabhsimran was on 34 when he pulled off that hit. He finished on 83 off 49 to put Punjab in pole position.
