Chaotic, comedic, confusion, call it whatever you want, the Eliminator of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 between Kolhapur Tuskers and Raigad Royals had everything. In the viral video posted by MPL, CSK’s flop batter Rahul Tripathi was seen in a bizarre scene when the batters survived two run-out shouts in the span of a few seconds.
Raigad Royals’ Vicky Ostwal punching the ball through the off-side, started a series of funny events in the clash, as he collided with his batting partner Siddhesh Veer. Tuskers’ wicketkeeper Vishant More, in a bid to affect the run-out, threw the ball towards the bowlers’ end, with the bowler fumbling the pick-up.
While it was already pure chaos till then, as More could have just knocked the bails off at the striker’s end, things took a turn for the worse. Tripathi, who plays for the Tuskers, collected the ball from the bowler and ran a sprint towards the batter’s end before ultimately hauling the ball, and missing all three stumps.
In the end, the two batters safely got home, and funnily enough, got an extra four, courtesy of Tripathi’s horrible throw, which sprang across for a boundary. Courtesy of a poor bowling display, it was the Tuskers who were knocked out of the tournament, as the Royals progressed.
