Rahul Tripathi might not be clicking with the bat for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but on the field, he was unbelievable on April 14 (Monday) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow.
The opening batter took a stunning catch to remove Aiden Markram, the LSG opener, in the clash between the two teams in match 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Tripathi, who was stationed at short cover, had to paddle back and, chasing the ball from there, he dived full length to take it at extra cover as Markram could not believe his luck that the ball, even after landing outside the 30-yard circle in the off-side in the very first over, was caught.
Khaleel Ahmed, the bowler, had bowled a length ball which, with the angle, was going away from the right-hander and Markram wanted to jab it towards the leg side. As a result, the ball went up in the air and was eventually caught by Tripathi.
