WATCH: South Africa Edge West Indies In Thrilling Bowl-Out After Tied WCL 2025 Match
The match was reduced to an 11-over contest due to rain
Years after the thrilling bowl-out between India and Pakistan in the World T20 2007, we witnessed another such instance, this time coming in a World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 match between West Indies Champions and South Africa Champions in Birmingham on July 19 (Saturday).
In a rain-curtailed 11-over contest, South Africa were set a target of 81, but despite JP Duminy's unbeaten 25 (12) and Sarel Erwee's 27 (18), South Africa could not get over the line. With nine required off the final over, Fidel Edwards picked up two wickets in two balls off the fourth and fifth deliveries to give West Indies a chance.Â

However, Wayne Parnell stole a leg-bye off the final ball to take the game into a bowl-out.
In the bowl out, the West Indies made a mess of it, missing all their chances, after South Africa hit two of their five cracks at the stumps.
As a result, South Africa are off the mark in WCL 2025, with two points. Pakistan, who beat England by five runs in their first game, are currently on top of the table in the six-team event due to a better net run-rate.
