WATCH: Zak Crawley's Stumps GET DESTROYED In County Championship Opener
The incumbent England opener departed for 1 off 7 balls as his shocking run continued
England’s Zak Crawley seemed to have turned a corner in Test cricket during Ashes 2023, but after an impressive few months, the opener had a torrid end to 2024. Across the last 5 Tests (10 innings) he played in 2024, Crawley amassed just 113 runs at an average of 11.30, failing to cross the 30-run mark even once.
Thus on the back of the horror run, the 27-year-old entered the 2025 County Championship hoping to get some much-needed runs under his belt for Kent.
However, in Kent’s first game of the season against Northamptonshire at the County Ground in Northampton, Crawley ended up enduring humiliation as Australia’s left-arm quick Liam Guthrie sent not one, but two stumps FLYING on the very third over of the match.
Northants won the toss and opted to bowl and Guthrie, with a ball that seamed back into the right-hander, absolutely DESTROYED two stumps to send Crawley packing.
