NEWSSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) managed to win their first game after five continuous losses, beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) convincingly by seven wickets in Dubai. led by Sanju Samson's 57-ball 82, RR managed to put up 164 for 5, but the skipper felt that they eventually fell 10-20 runs short and urged his teammates to lift their standards.
There are no change in the points table. RR remain sixth with eight points from 10 matches, while SRH are rooted to the bottom of the table, having picked up just four points from 10 games. Speaking of RR's loss, Samson said, "It was a decent score. The wicket was sticky, and they were bowling well. We could have got 10 or 20 more actually. The last overs was the difference - you can say that. I wanted to keep going, but we kept losing one or two wickets."
"We got the target which we were aiming for after the time-out. We definitely need to work a lot on our batting and bowling... We need to be at our best each and every ball. We need to lift our standards."
After having beaten Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their first match since the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, RR have succumbed to two straight losses - first against Delhi Capitals (D) and today against SRH. however, they still remain in contention for a place in the top four.
RR's first challenge will be to go past Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who they play on Saturday (September 29) in Dubai.
