NEWSFormer Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, while expressing regret over the home series against New Zealand being called off added that everything possible needs to be done from ensuing cricket does not get taken away from Pakistan again.
Following a terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, Pakistan went nearly a decade without regular international cricket. However, teams like South Africa and Sri Lanka have visited their shores without any hiccups.

After the Pakistan-New Zealand white-ball series was abandoned, Akram had tweeted saying that Pakistan is one of the safest places in the world to play cricket. "Extremely disappointed in NZ choice to abandon the #PAKvNZ tour. Pakistan has proven that our security measures for international games is of the highest order, making Pakistan one of the safest places in the world to play cricket today. I feel we are not hearing the whole story," the former skipper had tweeted.

Pakistan and New Zealand were scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is, but the tour was called off even before a ball was bowled as the NZC were advised of a security threat.
