When do India next play international cricket?

The Indian Men’s team will not be playing a single game for the remainder of August

The 2-0 defeat in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka marked the end of India’s 27-year unbeaten run in bilaterals against the latter. However, it also marked the beginning of an unprecedented quiet period in Indian cricket.

The Indian Men’s team will not be playing a single game for the remainder of August. In fact, team India won’t be playing for another month, with their next series only scheduled for mid-September.

Who do team India play next?

After the month-long break, India will start another hectic period in international cricket in September. They will begin by playing a two-Test series against Bangladesh at home.

The first Test will commence on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second Test will be played between September 27 to October 1 at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

After the Tests, the Men in Blue will play three T20Is against Bangladesh from October 6 to October 12.

The schedule for the T20Is has already been announced as well.

Bangladesh's Tour of India

1st Test, September 19-23, Chennai

2nd Test, September 27 - October 1, Kanpur

1st T20I, October 6, Dharamsala

2nd T20I, October 9, Delhi

3rd T20I, October 12, Hyderabad

What after the Bangladesh series?

After Bangladesh, India will host New Zealand for three Tests. That series will start from October 16 and will go on till November 5. The blockbuster three-Test series will be played across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune.

The schedule for the New Zealand Test series is as follows:

New Zealand's Tour of India

1st Test, October 16-20, Bengaluru

2nd Test, October 24-28, Pune

3rd Test, November 1-5, Mumbai

Is that all for the rest of the year?

Absolutely not. November, December and January are stacked. After the New Zealand Tests, India will travel to South Africa to play four T20Is.

After this, they will travel to Australia to play five Border-Gavaskar Trophy Tests. The BGT 2024/25 will begin on November 22 and will go on till January 7.

After this, India will host England for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs between January 22 and February 12.
