One of the best Test series of this century has just come to its conclusion, and fittingly, the fifth and final Test of the series oversaw a remarkable finish. Defending 374, India were down and out at one point with England cruising at 301/3, but the Men in Blue produced a comeback for the ages to secure a famous six-run victory and draw the series.
It was a perfect conclusion to 25 days of gruelling Test cricket, with India’s engine Mohammed Siraj claiming the decisive last wicket with a searing yorker. Really, nobody could have written a better script.

India will have nearly two months off from Test cricket, after which they will get back to red-ball action.
The home season will kick-off in October and India will start that with a two-Test series against West Indies, starting October 2nd. The two games will be played across Ahmedabad and Delhi.
After the Windies series, India will host South Africa for two more Tests in November. The two Tests in that series will be played in the East of India, Kolkata and Guwahati.
Post the South Africa series, India will not play any Test cricket until after IPL 2026.
