Sediquallah Atal joined the long list of Afghanistan players to debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after he was named in the playing 11 of the Delhi Capitals for their last league stage match of the 2025 season against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 24 (Saturday).
Atal was named as a replacement for Dushmantha Chameera, who was taken to the cleaners alongside Mukesh Kumar in DC’s last encounter against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
Famous for hitting seven sixes in an over, Atal has been in great form, hitting 1,260 runs at an average of 46.67.
Hitting a boundary every 5.5 balls, Atal strikes at 140 and has hit 162 boundaries in 31 innings. Reacting after he was given his debut cap, Atal said, “I am very excited.”
