Who Is Vedant Sehwag, Son Of Virender Sehwag, Selected In Delhi Premier League 2025
Vedant, the younger son of Virender Sehwag, will play DPL 2025 for West Delhi Lions
Virender Sehwag’s younger son, Vedant, just like his elder brother Aaryavir, has made enough noise in the Delhi cricket ecosystem with his talent to get picked in the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025).
The off-spinner, who’s still in his early teenage years, has played for the Delhi Under-16 team in age group competitions, and now will play for West Delhi Lions in DPL 2025, which includes stalwarts of Delhi and India cricket like Ishant Sharma and young spinners like Hrithik Shokeen who have already impressed in senior domestic cricket. Vedant was bought for INR 4 Lakh in the auction held in early July.
In the Vijay Merchant Trophy for U16 boys, he picked 24 wickets in just five games for Delhi, which made him one of the leading wicket-takers in the tournament. He has strong defensive skills with a high frequency of dot balls and maiden overs, which will hold him in good stead as a finger spinner in T20 cricket.
His success at the age group stage amongst the best U16 talents of the country will definitely give him a lot of confidence as he steps into the biggest cricketing stage of his young career. A good performance in DPL will ensure a smooth transition to the Delhi Under-19 team for Vedant.
With his brother Aaryavir already making noise with his runs in U19 cricket, Vedant is very well poised to continue his family legacy in Delhi cricket, along with his elder brother, who was also bought in the DPL auction for INR 8 Lakh by Central Delhi Superstarz.
