The Delhi Capitals (DC) would have taken a sigh of relief when they replaced Jake Fraser-McGurk with Bangladesh’s left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, as Mustafizur joined DC for INR 6 crore.
However, as per reports by ESPNCricinfo, Mustafizur hasn't yet obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for participating in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury was quoted by the aforementioned publication, confirming the absence of official communication regarding the pacer’s IPL participation, and mentioned that he was supposed to be with the team in the UAE as per schedule.
"Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule," Chowdhury said.
"We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I have also not received any such official communication from Mustafizur either."
Mustafizur was due to participate in back-to-back T20I series against UAE and Pakistan, both of which clash with the IPL. The two T20Is against UAE are scheduled on May 17 and 19, and will be followed by five T20Is in Pakistan on May 25, 27, 30 and June 1 and 3. Both series are clashing with the second half of the IPL, which will start on May 17 and will go on June 3.
Earlier, Fraser-McGurk informed the franchise that he won’t be coming back for the remaining IPL 2025 games, after which DC brought in Mustafizur as a replacement.
