After deciding to give the last round of the Ranji Trophy a miss, India ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma went practicing at the nets of the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)’ Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai.
It is the same venue where Mumbai are playing their last-round game against Meghalaya.
Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal played the previous Ranji encounter where Mumbai took on Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and surprisingly, lost the match. In that game, Rohit scored 3 and 28 in both the innings respectively.
Jaiswal was no better as he could manage to get only 4 and 26 in the two innings as Mumbai suffered their first-ever defeat against J&K.
Rohit is supposed to play in the three-match ODI series against visitors England, starting with the first one on February 6 at Nagpur. With his form dwindling and the Champions Trophy just a few weeks away, Rohit is busy sharpening his skills at the same venue where the Ranji Trophy match, which he missed, is going on.
Earlier, Shardul Thakur took a hat-trick in the game against Meghalaya and became the fifth Mumbai bowler in history to achieve that feat.
