The biggest question on Indian fans’ minds right now is, will Chris Woakes come out to bat?
At the end of the fourth day’s play at The Oval, with England requiring 35 runs and India requiring four wickets, the game was evenly poised. But that’s where the cameras pointed towards Woakes, who was dressed in England’s Test whites with a sling on his left hand.
Will Woakes then come out to bat?
"At this stage, the injury has ruled him out of any further participation in the Test," the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement.
Although the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had effectively ruled him out of the remainder of the Test due to a dislocated shoulder, there’s a strong possibility that Woakes could come out to bat.
The all-rounder didn’t bat in the first innings, as England were bowled out for just 247 runs. Woakes didn’t take any part on days two and three of the fifth Test, as England were reduced to just three pacers.
Despite being ruled out of the Test, no rule says Woakes cannot come out to bat.
