Will India Travel To Bangladesh For White-ball Series In August As Scheduled?

India are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against Bangladesh, starting August 17

India are due to travel to Bangladesh in August a white-ball series consisting of three One-Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20 Internationals (T20I), starting August 17.

However, with the turbulent political scenario in Bangladesh, it is unlikely that the series will go ahead as planned. However, BCB president Aminul Haque is confident of hosting India at some point in the coming days.

"We're having positive discussions with the BCCI," Aminul told the media on June 20 (Monday), according to Cricbuzz.

"It's not like [hosting India] in August or September, we are having discussions on how we can do the series, and if we cannot host it now, we will do it at another possible time. They [BCCI] are waiting for some government clearance," he added.

Moreover, Simon Taufel has been appointed has been appointed by the BCB on a three-year contract to lead umpire education in Bangladesh. "We've nearly finalised the agreement with Simon, and he, along with his team, will work to educate our umpires," Aminul said.

The ODIs could mark the return of stalwarts like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who have already announced their retirement from Tests and ODIs.
