Matt Henry, who has been a tormentor for the Indian set-up all the time in ODIs, might not be able to make the New Zealand playing 11 for the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
In his 11 appearances against the Men in Blue, the speedster has taken 21 wickets, which includes two four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul, which was in the last match in Dubai.
But the 33-year-old got injured while playing in the semi-final against South Africa in Lahore. The injury happened in the 29th over of the Proteas chase when Henry came running from the boundary lines and caught Klaasen brilliantly.
After the catch was completed, Henry held on to his shoulders and went off the ground. Though he came back and bowled three movers. Still, whether he will be fit for the mega contest or not, Mitchell Santner updated.
“Have to wait and see how Matt Henry’s shoulder is. It’s a bit sore, we have to wait for a couple of days and see,” Santner said in the post-match presentation.
There is a three-day gap between the semi-final and final, which will be played on March 9 (Sunday) in Dubai.
