One of the biggest matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 3 (Saturday), will be under the threat of being washed out by rain.
Bengaluru has been facing inclement weather for the last few days, when thunderstorms and rain have disturbed the city in the evenings and nights. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm IST, which is the exact time when the city has experienced rains of late.
As for May 3, according to the BBC’s weather website, the rains in Bengaluru will start at 3:30 pm IST and will continue till 9:30 pm IST. Although Chinnaswamy Stadium’s drainage system is one of the finest in the world, it would be hard to get the ground back to its best within an hour or so, after six hours of pelting rainfall,
At max, the match, if rain gives way, would begin at 11–11:30 pm. But all these are predictions only. The reality will be witnessed only on Saturday. Since MS Dhoni's side are already out of the playoff race, the rain could only harm RCB’s chances as they might lose one point.
