Yashasvi Jaiswal's catching was poor during the first Test at Headingley, that played a key role in England getting over the line. India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has hinted that the batter will be given a break from fielding at gully, where a couple of catches went down.
So where will Jaiswal field in the next Test in Birmingham?
"There's also an argument for the short leg being a very important position, particularly if we are going to play two spinners. And we want to pick more guys in that position," ten Doeschate said ahead of the second Test at Edgbaston.
"And maybe just give Yashasvi a break from catching in the gully for a little while. His hands are quite sore. We want to get his confidence back up."
Despite his shortcomings as a fielder, Jaiswal slammed a ton in the first innings of the Leeds Test. India went down by five wickets despite setting a target of 371.
