Rishabh Pant, who made his comeback to red-ball cricket during the Chennai Test after a life-threatening injury in 2022, is in the good books of Australian T20I captain Mitchell Marsh.
Marsh, who is likely to play an important role in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, wished that Pant, his teammate at Delhi Capitals (DC), were Australian.
“He's a ripping bloke. I wish he were Australian. He's been through a lot over the last few years, and it's been a hell of a comeback,” Marsh said in a video uploaded by Star Sports in the build-up to the big Test series starting with the first Test from November 19 onwards.
“He's a positive guy, still young, and loves winning. He's highly competitive for someone who has the persona of being relaxed and always laughing and smiling. He's got that big smile,” added the Western Australian, who is currently leading the Aussies in England in a five-match ODI series.
Earlier, Steve Smith, former Australia skipper and one of the best batters in Test cricket, said that Virat Kohli looked very Australian thanks to his mindset.
