WPL 2024 to be held in Bangalore, Delhi: Report

The BCCI had plans of conducting the second season at multiple venues but didn’t have too many options at their disposal

The Board of Control for Cricket in India are planning to conduct the second season of the Women’s Premier League in Bangalore and Delhi, Cricbuzz reported on Thursday (January 11).

It’s expected that the first half will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, while the second half, including the playoffs, will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The WPL 2024 is expected to happen from February 22 to March 17. The first season, which was won by Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians, was held in March 2023 in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

The BCCI had plans of conducting the second season at multiple venues but didn’t have too many options at their disposal.

Apart from Mumbai, Gujarat was the only option, but the board felt that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad would be too huge for WPL matches.
