English all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt became the first player in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history to notch up 1000 runs on March 15 (Saturday). The all-rounder got to that milestone in the WPL 2025 final against Delhi Capitals, scoring the first three runs of her innings.
Prior to this season, the competition for 1000 WPL runs was between the Australian duo of Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry, who were in prime position. While Lanning can still get there, on 939 runs after 27 appearances, it is not possible for Perry anymore in WPL 2025 after RCB crashed out of the competition in the group stage.
1000* - Nat Sciver-Brunt
972 - Ellyse Perry
939 - Meg Lanning
861 - Shafali Verma
785 - Harmanpreet Kaur
The English all-rounder had scored just 504 runs in the first two seasons and was coming into the 2025 season on the back of a dismal 2024 campaign, where she had scored just 172 runs. But come the 2025 season, she’s just taken off to a different level, smashing 496 runs while averaging a staggering 70.42.
