The UP Warriorz (UPW) continued their momentum from their Super Over win at the Chinnaswamy in the game against the Mumbai Indians as well.
Grace Harris was sent to open the innings along with Kiran Navgire, and despite the latter being dismissed in the first over by Nat Sciver-Brunt bowling a short ball, Harris insinuated a hurricane from her end. She smashed Shabnim Ismail for three fours in the second over and flexed her muscles against the fastest bowler in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) history.
Vrinda Dinesh, who came out to bat at number three on the day, played scintillating strokes on the off side in the next of Sciver-Brunt for four, and UPW were already looking at a big powerplay score. However, what came in the next over was even more special.
Harris smashed two sixes and two fours in the fourth over bowled by Hayley Matthews and collected 20 runs in the six deliveries! The big swinging Harris was just waiting for Matthews to pitch full, and she clobbered two sixes on the leg side with effortless power.
UPW ended with 62/1 in the powerplay, their second-highest score in the first six overs after the 66/1 they scored against the Delhi Capitals just a few days ago in Bengaluru.
