Jemimah Rodrigues continued to blow hot and cold, with a second-ball duck against UP Warriorz on February 19 (Wednesday). Unfortunately, for the Indian middle-order batter, it was her third duck in the competition, which also happens to be the joint-most for any batter.
UP Warriorz’ left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone dismissed the right-handed batter for a second-ball duck, with an attempted sweep going straight to Rajeshwari Gayakwad. The right-hander started the season on a disappointing note, with a two against MI Women before smashing a 22-ball 34 against defending champions RCB Women.

It was the joint-most ducks for any batter in WPL history, joining the likes of MI’s Hayley Matthews and Gujarat Giants’ skipper Ashleigh Gardner. With the ODI World Cup around the corner, Jemimah’s adventure against spin might come under the scanner after she got against RCB trying to reverse sweep.
However, for DC, Meg Lanning continued her stellar form, with her seventh WPL half-century, the most for any batter, as she kept DC in the driver’s seat, chasing 167.
