WPL 2025: MI’s Unstoppable Trio Continue Their Domination
It was a day for the all-rounders for Mumbai as they took their team to an easy win over Gujarat Giants
The Mumbai Indians (MI) trio of all-rounders Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews continued their domination in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
Playing against Gujarat Giants in match number five of the 2025 edition of the league, the trio created multiple records while taking their team to victory, the first of the season for Mumbai.
While the three of them took seven wickets between them, with Matthews taking three and Sciver-Brunt and Kerr picking two each, they also contributed heavily with the bat in what was not a big chase.
Matthews scored 17 while Kerr made 19. However, Sciver-Brunt was the MVP of the game as she smashed her fifth fifty. However, she got out for 57, when the team was only seven runs away from victory.
Not only did she become only the fifth player to record five or more fifty plus scores in the league, but it took the English batter's tally of boundaries past 100 with the help of her 11 fours.
