Follow UsWest Indies’s Chinelle Henry, who wasn’t even initially in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), has lit up the tournament with her big hitting.
After proving what she could do on her debut by scoring 33 off just 15 deliveries against the Delhi Capitals in Vadodara, she carried forward the same momentum against the same opposition in Bengaluru.

In fact, she batted even better and scored the joint-fastest fifty in WPL history by bringing up her half-century on just 18 deliveries and equalling Sophie Dunkley’s record that she achieved in the first season itself.
Henry smashed eight huge sixes at the Chinnaswamy, also equalling Sophie Devine and Ashleigh Gardner's records for most sixes in a WPL innings.
The impact of Henry’s innings was that UPW, who were in serious trouble at 109/7 in 15.4 overs, ended with 177/9 after adding 78 more runs in just 26 deliveries. Henry took a special liking to Arundhati Reddy and smashed three sixes in the 19th over. She also scored two sixes and a four two overs prior to that against Shikha Pandey as UPW collected 24 runs in the 17th over.
With Grace Harris not being in good form with the bat for some time now, Henry’s inclusion has been a boon for UPW as she has given them much needed finishing impetus needed in the last two games.
